Raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Donald B Colson, Ph.D., worked for 33 years at the Menninger Clinic in Houston, Texas, serving as Director of Psychology, Teaching, and Research. In his book, A Patients Guide to Psychotherapy and an Overview for Students and Beginning Therapists, Dr. Colson addresses the experience a patient is likely to have undergoing dynamic psychotherapy.
After retiring to Southern California with his wife, Jane, Dr. Colson turned his career into a love of poetry in his collection of unique poems that will stir your senses with the insight, intensity, and interconnection that comes from working with and studying people over his 50 year career. His poems cover personal events and the associated emotions to which we can all relate as they shape our lives, putting you in touch with a broad range of feelings from anger, fear, and perplexity, to excitement, love and passion.
