Dinah published her memoir, Daring to Dream Once Again - It’s Never Too Late! in 2015 at the age of 73. Much to her surprise, it reached #4 on Amazon in Women & Business.
Dinah and her family escaped on the last boat out of Shanghai in 1949. She grew up in a small town in Ohio where they were the only Asian family. She has always felt a deep sense of gratitude for being Chinese and American. One of her favorite talks while serving as a senior official in the George H.W. Bush administration in Washington, D.C. was titled, “The Best of Both Worlds.”
As a young wife and mother Dinah lived in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines over a period of 15 years. At the age of 38, she went back to school to get her MBA from Columbia Business School and began her climb up the corporate ladder. In her mind, she finally broke the glass ceiling when she became Vice President, International Business Development for a Fortune 500.
At the age of 58 she moved to Beijing to study Chinese and reconnect with her roots. She fell in love with the culture and language and stayed a decade, from 2000-2010.
