Iris B. Burnham was born in New York City. She resided most of her adult life in Texas. Iris holds degrees in English Literature from Hunter College of the City University of New York and California State University at Los Angeles. Now retired, she had taught multiple grades and subjects from kindergarten through college before founding several schools, both private and public, spanning elementary through high school grades.
During her career, Iris published materials pertaining to Writing pedagogy and STEM curriculum. Recently she wrote the cozy mystery series - subtitled ABC Mysteries - about Adie Bea Chaulk, teacher-sleuth. Missing Teacher and the sequel, Turkish Tango, are available on Amazon Kindle and in paperback. Her third book in the series is still in the works. According to Iris, “Writing fiction has opened up an exciting world for me to create the people and places I want to spend time with.”
