When Michael Marchildon began his surgery internship at Johns Hopkins in 1968, he knew it would be a memorable year. So, he kept a diary. Decades later, Michael dusted it off and wrote his first memoir. He attempted to publish it the traditional way but was informed by a literary agent (who loved his writing) that the risk-averse publishing industry would never consider a first-time author’s work unless he was a social media influencer. Michael is now working toward self-publishing.
He enjoys writing almost as much as he enjoyed his more than 40 years as a pediatric surgeon.
