S. Ramagopal was born in British India and was educated and trained in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Madras, University of California and Harvard. Having peered into some secrets of life from microbe to man, following retirement, he is now engaged in teasing out the elusive and evolving I & Time in prose and verse, in English and Tamil.
